Fasting is an act of worship in which you abstain from a good thing to focus on God. The most common form of fasting seen in the Bible is a “dietary fast,” where a person abstains from food for a period of time. Fasting helps individuals depend less on worldly needs and rely fully on God.

Our hope is that through our 40 Days of Fasting, God will deepen our relationship with Him and strengthen our love for others. During this time, we are also praying that God will align Grace Bible Church with our new vision statement: “We exist for the glory of God, the good of His Church, and the hope of the world.”
-
We will be fasting a total of 40 days, from February 9 to March 21.
-
You can fast by giving up any regularly enjoyed, good gift from God. This will look different for each person. Some examples include:
Abstaining from food from sunrise to sunset.
Limiting or avoiding social media, television, or video games.
Giving up anything good that you find yourself turning to instead of spending time with God.
When you sign up to participate in the 40 Days of Fasting, you will receive a list of options for fasting. Prayerfully consider what God would have you give up to better focus on Him.
